St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics (SPbSUSE) is the only university in St. Petersburg and the North-West Region that prepares specialists with higher education for Small and Medium Enterprises of the Service Industry.
The University is the youngest state university in St. Petersburg. It is very dynamic and modem. Today 38 thousand students study at the University acquiring 35 specialities and 50 specialisations. The training is held at 8 faculties, 32 branches and regional representative subdivisions as well as in the Polytechnic College (full-time and correspondence forms of studies). The educational process is carried out by highly qualified teaching staff, 75% of them have degrees of Full Professors and PhDs.
In accordance with Bologna Declaration, the University provides training in 3-level system of High Education Bachelor Degree, Master Degree, Doctorate Degree.
For those having higher education the University offers retraining (second higher education) in any of its specialities, with issue of state-standard diploma
The Regional University - Complex SPbSUSE has been established on basis of the University. It is an association of the University, secondary schools, vocational schools and colleges. This is a multi-level system of education to provide continuity of educational programs with regard to specificity of profession which enables students to choose their future speciality consciously.
The high level of training is confirmed by the results of participation of the graduates and postgraduate students of St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics in inter-university, regional, all-Russian as well as international competitions, contests, conferences and symposiums. The University is engaged in wide-scale international activity within the framework of contractual relationships with Universities of Italy, Bulgaria, Finland and Republic of Serbia.
